The Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) is the most widely recognized standardized test for evaluating and certifying Japanese language proficiency for non-native speakers. It covers language knowledge, reading ability, and listening ability. The test is offered in five levels, from N5 (the easiest) to N1 (the most difficult).
